On the bustling corner of Business 83 and Tower Rd. you’ll spot The Landmark on Tower, a soon-to-be eatery where friends will become family. Co-owner Roy Landa wanted a place in the community where families can spend time together while enjoying delicious food on a breezy afternoon. With his brother as co-owner, the Landas decided to include a food truck park and a self-pour taproom that charges by the ounce. The Landmark on Tower is readying to open in September, and the Alamo EDC wants to give a glimpse of things to come!
Why Open a Business in Alamo?
Mr. Landa and his brother decided that opening up a business in Alamo would be a smart move. He says about the decision, “I grew up in Alamo, my whole family is from Alamo, and we’ve lived here pretty much most of my life. Growing up here, I had a real sense of pride for the city, for the old families, for the new families that come into our area. I think Alamo is on the brink of being a great place for new businesses.”
When Mr. Landa wanted to find out about the loan programs the Alamo EDC offers, he quickly found out that they were very accommodating, saying, “The EDC president, Mr. Garza, and EDC director, Mr. Tapia, have been a tremendous help, and Mr. Tapia has made the process seamless. The EDC is very pro-business and is doing its best to bring in new business to Alamo. The EDC made the whole process very easy.”

To Mr. Landa, the future is bright in Alamo, and he recommends our city as a location to look into for other business owners. “I think Alamo is on the brink of being the next best little city for businesses. As a business owner and someone who has family members that have other businesses in Alamo, we’ve seen the growth of the city, the excitement of new businesses coming in, and I think businesses would thrive, especially with the commercial properties for sale in Alamo. There’s a lot of good possibilities for all new businesses looking to call Alamo home.”
